Retrofit Station Inventory Manager — design notes
Section titled “Retrofit Station Inventory Manager — design notes”Persona surface for the Supply Chain & Parts, Vehicle Operations and Production — Product Specification and §7.10 of the Forge Floor App PRD (FR-FS1 to FR-FS9). Web flow, canonical Atlas shell (1440).
The console is the Production Inventory Manager’s, against the other pool. The views, the gate, the ledger contract, the way a line’s status is read, the forecast arithmetic and the narrow-screen behaviour are the same and are described there. What follows is only what is true of the retrofit pool and not of the production one — the two are deliberately one console so a steward who covers both wears one set of habits.
Persona
Section titled “Persona”The Retrofit Station Inventory Manager stewards the Retrofit pool at Sango: the second of the two shared team pools, the one the retrofit team’s Forge app draws on. The station fits kits to chassis; it does not build them.
What the pool holds
Section titled “What the pool holds”Fourteen items off the same catalogue the rest of the estate uses. Four of them — Retrofit Kit (v1), the 8kWh battery pack, the Telemetry Bundle and the Main Retrofit Harness — are things the Production line makes, not things a vendor sells. The rest are the fitting consumables and the drivetrain parts a conversion needs.
The harness and the VCU sit on the shelf as fitment spares: nothing in the bill of materials draws them, so they never appear on the forecast. That is correct and is why a request for ten more harnesses is the seeded rejection — nine are held and no open work order draws one.
The bill of materials is a conversion, not a build
Section titled “The bill of materials is a conversion, not a build”Three assemblies, and none of them is a kit:
| Assembly | Draws |
|---|---|
| Tricycle retrofit | Retrofit Kit (v1) · 8kWh battery pack · a box of M8 fasteners · 12 cable ties · 0.05 litre threadlocker |
| Telemetry fit | Telemetry Bundle · 8 cable ties · a roll of insulation tape · 2 metre power cable |
| Drivetrain refit | BLDC motor · CV joint pair · 1.5 litre differential oil · 0.1 litre threadlocker |
Lead time is a production turnaround, not a vendor
Section titled “Lead time is a production turnaround, not a vendor”This is the one substantive difference in the forecast, and it changes who the station chases. A vendor line states its lead as approval days plus delivery days. A line Production builds carries build:true and its lead reads as a build here with its batch time, because the replacement for a short kit is a production work order through the warehouse, not a purchase order. A station that reads “order now” against a kit and takes it to Procurement has gone to the wrong people; the forecast has to say so on the row.
The seeded position makes that concrete: the station is short of kits and battery packs against the planned conversions, and both are Production’s to build. The seeded warehouse rejection says it in the warehouse’s own words — the warehouse holds no kits, so the request has to become scheduled production output.
The recycling stream is the chassis, not the bench
Section titled “The recycling stream is the chassis, not the bench”The production pool’s leftovers are offcuts and part-used discs. The station’s are an order of magnitude larger and come from a different place: every chassis it converts gives up a petrol engine, a fuel tank and an exhaust, and those have a real second-hand market. They are the largest holding on the page by value.
They are not pool stock. They never came from the warehouse and are not counted on a shelf, so they carry their own unit, write no movement, and are logged as a Strip-out — a kind the field sets itself and locks, because a part off a chassis is nothing else. Each is held against the work order that stripped it and routed like any other leftover: held for resale, re-used here, or scrapped. Nothing on the page prices what an item cost to buy; the only money is what it would fetch.
Cross-links
Section titled “Cross-links”- The floor raises into this gate from the Forge app (Retrofit team pool).
- An approved request lands on the Inventory Manager’s Requests surface as a facility request.
- The conversions the forecast reads are the work orders the Retrofit Station Manager plans.
- The kits and packs this pool waits on are built by the Production Manager’s line and stewarded on the way by the Production Inventory Manager.
